From e-Childcare to E-ZPass: Creative Solutions help Governments Stretch Budget Dollars
Check under the couch cushions for some loose change? Go for one less café latte each week? You’re not alone in trying to save money. Government agencies of all sizes are also facing belt-tightening challenges and have found creative and effective ways to reduce costs and improve the services they offer citizens.
Many agencies are working with
ACS, A Xerox Company, to help power processes directly affecting citizens:
- The state of Louisiana turned to ACS to help implement a new way to better manage time and attendance of its state-subsidized child care program. The result? An average of more than $2 million in savings monthly, reduced fraud, less administrative paper work, and child care providers being paid faster and more accurately.
- ACS is also helping Florida save a projected $15 million by consolidating the state’s many email systems into a single solution.
- States relying on ACS for electronic tolling solutions, known as E-ZPass in parts of the United States, reap savings and efficiency because traffic keeps moving, reducing congestion and pollution, and making things more efficient.
“It’s a huge challenge for the government agencies we work with—how to stay on budget and meet the needs of the people they serve,” said Joseph Doherty, executive vice president and chief operating officer, ACS Government Solutions. “With our solutions, we can relieve many of the pain points for our clients and let them focus on their core tasks.”
ACS provides services to more than 1,700 government agencies in all 50 states and around the world with solutions that show immediate results and can transform citizen service.
